- Article: Article was just moved from Draft namespace two days ago, so meets the new category. Article has not previously been featured. Article has more than 1500 character of readable prose in description section alone. Article is well and properly referenced, and hook is followed by an inline citation. No other POV or dispute issues with the article.
- Hook: My personal opinion is that ALT1 is the better hook, as the original hook is not a very unique phenomenon, since many species go year without being described. I think that the ALT1 hook goes well with the season, especially with the name of Krampus, which is what I assume you were going for. The hook is short enough, and reads pretty well, though I might suggest changing caddisflies to just species to increase readability for those of us not acquainted with the term caddisfly, but that is totally up to you; I'm ambiguous either way. Other than that, the hook looks to be very well written.
- I'll let the nominator respond with if they are OK with using the ALT hook before I mark it as DYK ready. Fritzmann2002 T, c, s, t 15:31, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- You caught me, it is an entry for Wikipedia:WikiProject Tree of Life/Contest. Alt hook is fine to use, but if we're to remove "caddisflies", I'd think "insects" would be more specific and still easy to understand. --Nessie (talk) 17:35, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- All good then! Thanks for a festive and well-done DYK! Fritzmann2002 T, c, s, t 20:57, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
