Anny Felbermayer[edit]

Created by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 10:54, 3 February 2018 (UTC).

  • Article is new, but was 8 days old at time of nomination; however, that seems close enough under suppplementary rule D9. Article is long enough (almost 2,300 characters of prose). Well-sourced and with inline citations, but I count 55 roles in the cited source, rather than 54. Am I missing something? No policy issues. Hook is sufficiently interesting. While its wording is a bit long (at 189 characters), it is within the limit, and retaining the details in the hook will help make this foreign subject interesting to a broader audience on English WP, so the wording is fine with me. The hook facts are supported by reliable sources and with inline citations immediately after their respective mentions in the article; first fact (54 roles) is available online, while second (creating role of Xanthe in 1952 premiere of Die Liebe der Danae) appears no longer to be available online, but appears to be a good source, and is accepted in good faith for DYK. QPQ has been done. – SJ Morg (talk) 09:42, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you for having mercy with my miscalculation of days after writing. Thank you more for counting the roles while I simply translated. Will count myself, and change. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:04, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
I counted and found one entry: "Gastspiele" which mentions the same role Barbarina as in the opera. So 54 is correct. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:07, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
I found the Salzburg entry for the premiere (=Uraufführung). The fact that it happened then, after the composer's death, is rather well known. - Perhaps hold this until March, Women's month? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:26, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for checking on the 54-vs-55 question and addressing it. Nomination is good to go now. Holding it until March, for Women's History Month, sounds like a good idea to me. SJ Morg (talk) 10:52, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this for Women's History Month. The source for her appearing as Xanthe is available for me, but it doesn't say anything about her "creating" the role. Are you sure you don't want to keep the hook short and simple at performing 54 roles?
  • ALT1: ... that the lyric soprano Anny Felbermayer performed 54 roles at the Vienna State Opera? Yoninah (talk) 21:23, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
  • "creating a role" in opera speak means singing it in the world premiere = Uraufführung, and this premiere was interesting because after the composer's death, and after that of the last opera he had composed, - all too little known. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:36, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the explanation. Restoring tick per SJ Morg's review. Yoninah (talk) 21:40, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
