  • Article good, hook is boring. Lots of species vanishing from regions due loss of habitat -- tell us why it's called Christmas beetle, or King, or that it used to overwhelm the trees and drown in Sydney Harbor in the 1920s [1] NE Ent 15:56, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that swarms of the King Christmas beetle would drown in Sydney Harbour as branches bearing them bent and dipped water from their weight?
ALT2: ... that the 3 cm long King Christmas beetle is the largest species of christmas beetle?
  • I have verified the original hook and alt2 though I prefer the original. I have struck alt1 as the source for it refers to the genus rather than the particular species. I would like to see a few more blue links for the esoteric terms in the article, but given that this is a Christmas hook, we are short of such hooks and there are only a couple of days to go, I'm approving as is. • A few one-line paragraphs lack any cites, per DYK rules. Yoninah (talk) 14:34, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
  • I found the cites in one of the sources. I also prefer the original. Restoring tick per Gatoclass' review. Yoninah (talk) 16:49, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
