Arabi Awwad[edit]

  • ... that in the 1973 the Palestinian communist leader Arabi Awwad was deported to Jordan?

  • This article is new enough and long enough. The hook fact has an online citation which confirmed that Awwad had been deported but didn't say where to. The whole topic of the article is outside my realm of knowledge so it is accepted in good faith. The article is neutral, and I found no close paraphrasing in the spot checks I made. • Hi, I came by to promote this but do not find the hook hooky at all. Perhaps you could add some more color to it? Most of the article is just a straight biography; is there anything else you can write about him? Yoninah (talk) 23:49, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
  • The fact that a political leader gets deported from his home country is quite extraordinary, and thus 'hook fact' in my view. --Soman (talk) 19:26, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Living in the Middle East, I don't find this so unusual, especially since he was jailed for 10 years and then thrown out. How about:
  • ALT1: ... that after being jailed for 10 years and then deported to Jordan, Palestinian communist leader Arabi Awwad was elected to the Palestinian National Council in 1974? Yoninah (talk) 18:24, 2 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Approving ALT1, the hook facts having inline citations although the sources are largely unavailable to me. The original hook is still approved as well, so the promotor can choose between them. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:23, 7 January 2016 (UTC)
  • I prefer ALT1, as noting him being jailed gives context to the deportation. Jolly Ω Janner 03:31, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
