Battle of Grunwald (painting)
[edit]- ... that the masterpiece painting Battle of Grunwald by Jan Matejko was among the most wanted artifacts that Nazi Germany planned to destroy?

but I could not find the mentioned hook in the linked webpage (Marek Rezler, Z Matejką przez polskie dzieje: Hołd pruski)Aloysius (talk) 20:24, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- Did you notice it is a three-page article (poorly designed, I grant that)? From: the third page: " To za jego obrazem w latach okupacji hitlerowcy urządzili wściekły pościg i drobiazgowe poszukiwania, ten właśnie obraz był z narażeniem życia wielu ludzi ukrywany - podobnie jak „Hołd pruski”" PS. Please notify the nominator that you have a question on their talk page in the future, not everybody checks the watchlists or watchlists the pages here. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 20:47, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- No, I did not and could not: the link to the hook, as I wrote, had brought me to a different page: Marek Rezler, Z Matejką przez polskie dzieje: Hołd pruski not to Marek Rezler, Z Matejką przez polskie dzieje: Bitwa pod Grunwaldem ... and it still does: "Together with Prussian Homage, it was one of the two paintings on the "most wanted" list by the Nazis, who engaged in a systematic action of trying to physically destroy all artifacts of Polish culture.[4]" => 4. ^ (Polish) Marek Rezler, Z Matejką przez polskie dzieje: Hołd pruski. Interklasa: polski portal edukacyjny. Retrieved on 11 September 2011 --- after correction it is ok to be accepted Aloysius (talk) 21:45, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- Both articles are several-pagers. From page 3: "W kilkadziesiąt lat później Niemcy wykazali większe zrozumienie rzeczy i „Hołd pruski” był obok „Bitwy pod Grunwaldem” obrazem polskim najbardziej poszukiwanym przez władze hitlerowskie.". --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 22:24, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
