Bodhamayananda

[edit]
  • ... that Bodhamayananda, director of VIHE, speaks of three "H's": develop your head, feel with your heart, and work with your hands for the development of the society?

Created by AmritasyaPutra (talk). Self nominated at 13:16, 28 September 2014 (UTC).

  • Things that are good:
  • This article was created Sept 25, nominated Sept 28, which is within the timeframe. It is 1,800 characters, is neutrally written and is cited with properly formatted citations, mostly to newspapers. Two sources are offline and are accepted in good faith. Only concerns re paraphrasing/etc are noted in section below.
  • The hook meets length requirements, is neutral and not negative (this article is a BLP), and corresponds with the statement in the cited source. Interesting is always subjective; I have proposed some alt hooks below but would not mind if the promoter chooses the original hook.
  • The nominator reviewed another nomination, Template:Did you know nominations/Fairy lorikeet, as required. There is no image to worry about.
  • Things that need fixing:
  • If the original hook is used, quotation marks should be added around the text "develop your head, feel with your heart, and work with your hands for the development of the society" since this is a direct quote from the source newspaper.
  • I have put quotes around another couple of phrases, but these I think are close paraphrasing that need to be rewritten:
  • article: He has exhorted youth to read books of Swami Vivekananda to gain self-confidence and strengthen their character.
  • source: exhorted youth on Tuesday to read books of Swami Vivekananda to gain self-confidence and strengthen their character.
Changed to (by AmritasyaPutra): He encourages students to develop self-confidence and build a strong character by reading the books of Swami Vivekananda.
  • article: He advocates for the education system to place more emphasis on human and spiritual values
  • source: wanted the education system to place more emphasis on human and spiritual values
Changed to (by AmritasyaPutra): According to him human and spiritual values need to be given more importance in the education system.
  • article: According to him, of late there is a surge in use of spirituality in management for two reasons: employees need meaningful existence in their personal and professional life, and corporate leadership has to look for better ways of motivating the employees and seeking innovative solutions
  • source: Of late there is a surge in use of spirituality in management for two reasons: one the employees need meaningful existence in personal and professional life and second-Corporate leadership is looking for better ways of motivating the employees and seeking innovative solutions.
Changed to (by AmritasyaPutra): According to him, spirituality is finding popularity with management courses because it helps employees in their search for a purpose in their personal and professional life and also because it is a novel way to motivate them into finding creative approach to problem solving.
I liked all the Alternates proposed here, I would specifically like Alt 1 or Alt 2. Thank you! --AmritasyaPutraT 01:57, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Very nice job on the rewrites! I have struck the extra hooks. Promoter, please make the call between Alt 1 and Alt 2. Thanks 184.147.131.89 (talk) 10:52, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
