Brants's whistling rat
- ... that Brants's whistling rat (pictured) seldom ventures more than a foot (30 cm) from one of the many entrances to its burrow? Source: "... restrict much of their foraging to the confines of their extensive burrows and individuals are seldom more than 30 cm from an entrance."
- ALT1:... that the length of Brants's whistling rat's (pictured) alarm call indicates the type of threat?

- Article was 5x expanded (239b to 3134b of readable prose) within timeframe. QPQ has been completed. No pings on Earwigs. Hooks are cited and short enough for DYK. Personally think ALT0 is the stronger of the two. Morgan695 (talk) 15:43, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote ALT0. The source (and article) says that it doesn't go farther than 30 cm to find food, but the hook is making a different statement. Yoninah (talk) 23:09, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- It's a rather fine distinction. You think it wanders around to have a gossip with its friends but only looks for food close to a burrow entrance? I think it is very wary and hardly ventures away from the safety of its burrow at all, preferring to expand its foraging area by digging more tunnel and creating a new entrance.
