Breakneck Brook[edit]

... that, in 1970, Laurance Rockefeller bought the land around Breakneck Brook (pictured) that the state had declined to purchase over 30 years earlier, and then donated it to the state to create Hudson Highlands State Park?

ALT1:... that the state of New York initially refused a gift of 650 acres (260 ha) around Breakneck Brook (pictured) because it was too rugged to develop as a park?
ALT2:... that Hudson River fish are not likely to be found in Breakneck Brook (pictured) since it descends to the river too steeply for them?
