  • Article started on 20 July and nominated on 24 July, so new enough, and at 2,991 characters when nominated long enough. Article has been expanded since. It is well written, interesting and neutral in tone. Sourced with inline citations from reliable sources. No copyvio detected (a list of names doesn't count). Hook is short enough, good and made from two cited facts in the text. As usual, I'm not too wild about refs in a lead, but it's not against policy. QPQ done + checked. Pictures have the right license. The DYK pic is not the article's main pic, but as lovely the telescope is, the proposed pic is more relevant for the hook and Hawkins always draws a crowd. However the pic does not render too well in small size, so I took the liberty of making a cropped version of it with a slight tweaking of the light just for the DYK as an alternative for the DYK promoter. Article good to go. w.carter-Talk 10:14, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
