- I had decided not to nominate this for DYK because it's an article about a living person that contains quite a bit of criticism. I think we should check with Brian Josephson before going ahead. SlimVirgin (talk) 15:53, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comment. The suggested hook is most likeley uncontroversial. Regarding the article, one of the GA criteria is that the article shall be neutral ("it represents viewpoints fairly and without bias, giving due weight to each"), so I thought neutrality was "settled". I see that the article treats some controversial issues, but hopefully not in violation with the BLP policy. Of course, it is fine to check with involved parties. - Hi, I do think the article is policy-compliant, but I wouldn't want to see it on the front page against the subject's wishes. SlimVirgin (talk) 17:12, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, we should respect the subject's wishes; it is no problem to withdraw the nomination if requested. But remember, it is just the hook that will appear on the front page (5 million views in 12 hours), while only a small fraction, those who are most interested, will read the article (normally a few thousand views).
