  • Comment: The 1983 coup attempt article isn't long enough, but it could be expanded to be.

Hook is short enough, and although the particular book references used are not available to me, I can tell by other reliable on line books that it is confirmed. OK to proceed. If you want mention of the other coups, they could be listed but not linked in the hook. However that would mean that the facts would still have to be confirmed in one of the articles.   • To expand: I am concerned that some of the phrasings in these articles are too close to those of their sources. For example, compare "the President finally acknowledges the country's dependence on Western aid for survival" in the 1980 article with "President Lamizana acknowledged Upper Volta's dependence on foreign aid for survival". There are also issues with sourcing: the 1982 article cites pages 51 and 52 of this source, but page 52 is blank and 51 has nothing to do with the material being cited. Similar problems also occur in the 1966 and 1980 articles. Nikkimaria (talk) 17:34, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Marking nomination for closure as unsuccessful. The creator is unwilling to fix the issues, and the nominator isn't up to dealing with what has been discovered.
