Detailed review of an interesting singing career, on good sources. I wonder if we really should go for the celebrities. I might be more interested in her signature part, the Strawberry Woman. Please get the refs away from the lead and look for the numbers ort of others. I also think we usually say Ninth Symphony, not Symphony No. 9, for Beethoven's work (compare today's Eighth). The Strawberry Woman is a rather minor role, and although she performed it on a famous recording and in a well known production, I don't think it's representative of the kind of repertoire she performed during the majority of her career. She sang Serena (a much larger part in Porgy) at the Met and with the New York Philharmonic, and youtube has performances of her performing Bess with the Czech Philharmonic in 2000 (I couldn't find a source for that concert or I would have added it). If anything, Aida was the role she most often performed in operas; even if it was with second tier companies. The work she performed most often was Strauss' Four Last Songs. With Donald Trump's run for President, I think that hook is the most likely to draw in readers right now. Best.4meter4 (talk) 16:23, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
