  • Please? Can we not say "of its kind". I speak as the cleverest, tallest, fattest, thinnest, stupidest and smallest person "of their kind" when I tell you that the boast needs to more specific Victuallers (talk) 13:40, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Still far too vague. "Leading" among what group? Among all research institutes as a broad category? Among leather research institutes that happen to be located in Chennai? And how many publications and patents does one need to be "leading", anyway? —David Eppstein (talk) 21:39, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Length, date, and various aspects of this article check out, and this article was new enough at the time of its nomination to be eligible. I struck "erstwhile" from the hook, as it is a bit awkward within the prose. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 04:20, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
