Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Women Mediapersons[edit]

  • ... that there is an award for women journalists in India named after a Jain freedom fighter?
Source: The Chameli Devi Jain Award has been awarded to women journalists for the past 37 years for upholding standards of excellence through a sustained body of work. Named after Chameli Devi Jain, a freedom fighter, it is perhaps the country's longest running media award for women.
Source: "She was arrested and sentenced to four and a half month's rigorous imprisonment... Chameli Devi returned home a local heroine - the first woman from the Jain community to go to prison... In order to cherish her memory... Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Mediaperson..." (Visible in the Look Inside provided)

  • Since the nominator has 5 DYK credits, a QPQ is needed. Yoninah (talk) 22:42, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
  • DiplomatTesterMan congrats on achieving this WP:DYK milestone of 5 successful DYKs. Yoninah the fifth DYK, was credited on 07:22, 17 March 2019 while this DYK was nominated much earlier when the WP:QPQ criteria was not met and QPQ was not needed. it is upto DTM if wants to add a QPQ on this DYK NOM, but IMHO it is unfair towards the nominator to hold his DYK for something that has happened after the nomination and approval. The QPQ condition should be enforced on DiplomatTesterMan from his next DYK nomination. DBigXray 08:58, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
