Newly created on the day of the nomination, large enough, sourced enough for DYK (though honestly I'm not sure about GNG, at least without doing any further searching, but this is not the venue to address notability). Hello, thanks for your review. I believe that he meets the notability guideline as an IEEE Fellow, a Presidential Young Investigator Award recipient, and former Department Chair of Electrical Engineering at Columbia, a major research university. His own research is also quite impactful in the field, but I do agree that it can be hard to find biographical sources for academics (who usually have no reason to talk to press, and about whom independent biographies are not usually written until after their death). While Google hits are not necessarily a reliable measure of notability, searching his name on Google Scholar does bring up over 1,000 publications in which he is mentioned or a co-author.
