Charlotte Zeepvat

[edit]

Created/expanded by Ruby2010 (talk). Self nom at 02:21, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

    • ALT 2 ... that reading historian Charlotte Zeepvat's 2000 work Romanov Autumn has been described as being "like leafing through a Victorian lady's scrapbook"? The current wording is not grammatical. --Ishtar456 (talk) 00:31, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Not sure about the "reading" part, but otherwise it works for me. Thanks, Ruby 2010/2013 02:36, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
      • I assumed the work was of writing, therefore the verb "reading". In any case, there needs to be a verb: _____ is like "leafing....etc". --Ishtar456 (talk) 21:06, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Yeah, I guess that works then. Thanks for the copy edit! Ruby 2010/2013 04:43, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Just observed the International Women's Day category at the bottom of the nom page. I think this article would be a good candidate for March 8, but I'll leave that judgment up to others. Ruby 2010/2013 19:44, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

  • new enough, long enough but I think your Alt is the most interesting hook and I had a problems with the citation of the fact. You do not mention that Prince Leopold was a heamophiliac in the article.I would like to suggest that you add that in the discussion of Leopold in the article and change the hook to:
... that historian Charlotte Zeepvat's first book, published in 1998, was about the haemophiliac youngest son of Queen Victoria, Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany?
  • If you make the suggested changes, I will sign off on this.--Ishtar456 (talk) 23:16, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
  • I have inputted a reference for the prince's haemophilia. However, I prefer the original alt hook, as I think it is less confusing at first glance (as it mentions the subject, Leopold, before the Queen):
  • I tweaked it slightly. Thoughts? Ruby 2010/2013 23:34, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
I replaced the original hook with the agreed upon alternative. Ready.
