Chen Zhen (artist)[edit]

  • ... that after artist Chen Zhen died without completing his fountain (pictured) in Paris, his widow spent seven years finishing the work?

  • It's long enough. New enough. The article looks good from every standpoint except one: the hook needs to be cited within the body of the article so it can be verifiable. Ping me on my talk page once you're done so I can complete the review. Étienne Dolet (talk) 06:49, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
@EtienneDolet: I didn't think it was necessary because the sources were cited at the end of the paragraph, but I've now added extra tags per your request. I personally think too many ref tags would unnecessarily add clutter to the article. -Zanhe (talk) 07:10, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Long enough. New enough. AGF on the foreign language sources. The hook is now cited with an inline citation in the body of the article. Good to go! Good work! P.S. I understand what you mean. I don't like adding too many citations either, but it is a rule for DYK reviewers to have the hook "cited with an inline citation in the article". Étienne Dolet (talk) 07:15, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
@EtienneDolet, Zanhe, and Maile66: There's no freedom of panorama in France, so we almost certainly can't use the image, unfortunately. Great article, though. Adam Cuerden (talk) 18:41, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
@Adam Cuerden: That's unfortunate. I've never heard of freedom of panorama before. Thanks for pointing it out. -Zanhe (talk) 19:13, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

  • Returned to queue as I cannot verify the hook from the cited sources. The Italian language source links to a page that does not appear to mention the sculpture. The French language source does not mention that Xu Min is the artist's widow. Grondemar 05:58, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
@Grondemar: Ugh, the Italian url seems to have moved. I found the original article and updated the url. But still, there's no reason to pull the hook. Several other sources mention Xu Min is his widow (cited in the Family section), including both NYT articles, as well as MoMa's interview with her. I've now added extra refs in the article just to be sure. -Zanhe (talk) 06:54, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
  • Looks good now, thanks. Can't be too careful. Grondemar 14:23, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm going to move it back to the queue. Adam Cuerden (talk) 17:54, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
