Chris Whitecross[edit]
- ... that Chris Whitecross was advised to attend Queen's University by her father who liked the uniforms worn by its engineers? Some time later, her father was in Kingston, Ont., for training and was captivated by the Queen’s University engineers, with their golden jackets and palpable pride. He came home and announced: “Chris, you’re going to go to engineering at Queen’s.”
- ALT1: ... that Canadian Army Lieutenant-General Chris Whitecross has fostered 33 children? Whitecross’s parents had been foster parents, and she and her husband loved kids and wanted to “pay it forward.” Over the years, they took in 33 foster children, most of them babies.

Article was new enough when it was moved to the mainspace, and it meets the length requirements. There are only three references used in the article, but all statements that need to be sourced have those as citations, so that's acceptable. No possible copyright violations or plagiarism detected. Article has no images so no need to worry about licensing. QPQ provided. Both non-rejected hooks are interesting, but I prefer ALT0 because it's the more "hooky" of the two (fostering children, as many as said children are, just doesn't sound as interesting for me as going to a school because of their uniforms). - @Narutolovehinata5: Hi, I came by to promote this, but I wonder why ALT1 is not acceptable. We're trying to write hooks that will catch people's attention, not summaries of their careers. IMO ALT0 is very superficial. ALT1 will get tons of clicks. Yoninah (talk) 21:57, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
- I had a classmate like that in high school so maybe I prefered that hook since I could relate to that. In any case, I didn't strike out ALT1 so it could still be promoted if a promoter desired. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:25, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
