Conjurer (band)

  • ... that Conjurer has contributed to a musical project named after a quote from the sitcom Peep Show? Source: "I have to ask, but is it named after a Peep Show quote? Brady: Absolutely." - Distorted Sound Magazine "This summer, Conjurer hooked up with Manchester post-rockers Pijn for Curse These Metal Hands, a four-track project named after a Peep Show quote." - Music Week
    • Reviewed: 3rd DYK nom so not required
    • Comment: Would be nice to have this on the 18th August as Curse These Metal Hands are performing at ArcTanGent Festival then, but no worries if it can't be fit in.

Overall: I found three pictures for the article and stuck them in where I thought they'd best fit, but I am not set on them in their current locations, or even on having all of them, feel free to move around or even remove some. Also, not knowing much about the band, I couldn't caption them in more detail - who is who - which might be useful for readers. Perhaps you may be able to caption the band members. @Pinktoebeans, CasualInterestInManyThings, and GRuban: Andy Price's departure and his replacement by Conor Marshall (as mentioned in the Members section) is not cited. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:41, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
Good point, I missed that. I searched a bit, and couldn't find the exact date, but I did find this statement from the band on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/ConjurerUK/status/1032204735426818048 "Conor came into the band just after we recorded Mire and Andy left 5:56 AM · Aug 22, 2018"
Better than nothing? --GRuban (talk) 13:19, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
Aha! Got it. https://www.therockpit.net/2017/conjurer-announce-debut-album-mire-and-release-new-video/ is announcing the completion of Mire, and is dated November 25, 2017. So Mire was already made by then (though scheduled for release in 2018). In fact, I am reasonably sure the picture of Conjurer that is accompanying the article already includes Conor Marshall (I'm reasonably sure he's the long haired skinny guy). On the other end, here's http://thesludgelord.blogspot.com/2017/01/band-profile-crushing-noisecore-crew.html?m=1 which is an article by Andy Price himself, dated Friday, 20 January 2017, and includes "... ; that has never left me and is still very much part of the sound that I bring to Conjurer." So the combination of the three links is good for narrowing down the date to 2017. Whew - that was non-trivial research, for a topic (metal music) that I know very little about! You get a DYK review from me, you get the full package! --GRuban (talk) 13:37, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
AirshipJungleman29, does this address your concerns? If so, can you please supersede your ? icon with a tick? Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:38, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
New reviewer needed, although I hope @AirshipJungleman29: Returns to approve this hook. Z1720 (talk) 14:44, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
I think that works. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 20:15, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
