Up to you, but the article need only have been created/expanded/brought to GA in the year immediately preceding the April 1 on which it will appear. They've already started posting next year's hooks at Wikipedia:April Fool's Main Page/Did You Know. — Maile (talk) 21:20, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
