Creagerstown, Maryland[edit]

  • ... that the crossroads town Creagerstown burned down in 1914 and never recovered?

5x expanded by Zellfaze (talk). Self nominated at 14:03, 19 March 2014 (UTC).

  • Alt1: ... that on June 2, 1914 the town of Creagerstown burned down causing almost $70,000 worth of damage?

Review by Hassocks5489:

  • No QPQ review required for this nomination.
  • The 5x expansion actually started on 14th March, so the nomination should have been listed there, but the expansion was completed within the five-day window so that's all OK.
  • References are of good quality and reliability, are correctly formatted and have been used appropriately.
  • The article's wording is fine throughout in terms of copyvio/close paraphrasing and neutrality.
  • The hooks are both supported by the refs supplied, except that I have amended ALT1 to show the correct date of the fire (2nd June) and to include a missing word ("of"). The fact that the town never recovered from the events is supported by the state's survey district listing.
  • Verified accordingly! Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 12:16, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
By the way, I prefer the original hook. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 12:17, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
  • I too prefer the first hook personally. Sorry about listing it at the wrong date. Zell Faze (talk) 14:34, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
