David González (skateboarder)

[edit]

Created/expanded by Stalwart111 (talk). Self nom at 01:28, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Review 1: The article has only about 1300 characters of prose. Don't you have more you can say about thrasher dude? ClaudeReigns (talk) 06:47, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Sure, probably! Leave it with me. Stalwart111 08:22, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Done - hopefully we're there now. Stalwart111 09:37, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Kowabunga! ClaudeReigns (talk) 11:08, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Not quite - the 'Early life' section of the article is currently unreferenced. For DYK, there needs to be at least one citation per paragraph. Moswento talky 12:15, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
My mistake - that para is covered by existing ref but had not been cited - now sorted. Cheers, Stalwart111 13:38, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
- Cite was added, all appears good. Best, Mifter (talk) 02:40, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Is the title of the honour "Skateboarder of the Year" or "Skater of the Year"? Assuming it should be the latter, as in the body of the article, I would propose a slightly modified hook, below. Moswento talky 09:05, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
ALT1:... that David González was named Thrasher magazine's 2012 "Skater of the Year"?
I think sports news likes the former (to distinguish between sports) but the latter is the title they confer - yours is more accurate and your fixes to the article were correct. Cheers, Stalwart111 09:21, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Then this is good to go with ALT1 (as my hook changes were cosmetic rather than substantial, I don't see a problem with me approving it). Article is long enough, new enough and referenced, including the hook. Meets DYK criteria. Go go go! Moswento talky 10:00, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
In hindsight, another review should approve this as I did suggest an alt hook. Moswento talky 08:11, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
  • It occurs to me that adding the word "skateboarder" before David's name in ALT1 would help clarify what the award was for. Does that work for the rest of you? BlueMoonset (talk) 18:54, 23 December 2012 (UTC) [Later note: added below as ALT2:]
  • Still need a reviewer to check the ALT hooks. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:06, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
I made sure to give inline citation for "Columbian" and "professional" in lede to Support ALT2. The award source from Thrasher is already cited to the award name. ClaudeReigns (talk) 21:32, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Hook ref verified. ALT2 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 15:22, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
