Article was completely rewritten, but not 5x expanded (it ended up almost exactly the same size); does not qualify per DYK rules

Death-Day

[edit]
  • ALT1:... that Sam Hiti has a 4-feet high stack of pages of scrapped material from Death-Day?
  • Reviewed: I reviewed Template:Did you know nominations/2016 Dwars door Vlaanderen (though I think I'm still exempt from Quid pro quo anyway).
  • Comment: There is one big issue: there was a lot of unsourced, in-universe prose in the article when I started, but I deleted all of it and started from scratch. I'm not sure if the article is eligible for DYK, but I want to try anyway because the hooks are interesting.

5x expanded by Maplestrip (talk). Self-nominated at 15:04, 26 March 2016 (UTC).

  • Unfortunately, this article is not eligible for DYK per WP:DYKSG section A4: "Fivefold expansion is calculated from the previously existing article, no matter how bad it was (copyvios are an exception), no matter whether you kept any of it and no matter if it were up for deletion". However, I do want to recognize and appreciate that you improved this article drastically from its original form, great work. Intelligentsium 19:12, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
  • @Intelligentsium: What would have happened if I had waited a few days before expanding the article after deleting the plot-info? Is there a certain cut-off point for this rule? ~Mable (chat) 19:27, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
  • The 5x expansion is calculated from the previous article as it stood before improvement and does not have a temporal cutoff. However, there are other ways to get an article to DYK without a 5x expansion - for example, by improving it to Good article status, which does not have any newness or expansion requirement. • I know... Well, thanks anyway. ~Mable (chat) 20:01, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
