Derby Racecourse[edit]

  • ... that Derby Racecourse wasn't reopened after the Second World War because the local council feared racing would "bring the wrong sort of people into the town"?

  • A little work needed here, but it should just be a case of supplying extra citations. The section and in 1856 the Midland Railway opened Nottingham Road station ... and hosted an FA Cup Final replay and an England international match as well. needs to be referenced, as does The County Cricket Ground also remained on the site ... but have also been lost to 21st century redevelopment. Sources used so far are fine: I don't have access to the two books, but am familiar with books produced by that publisher and can vouch for them. The article is long enough, well written and suitably formatted, and was nominated on the date of creation. I cannot see any previous DYK nominations by Jellyman (talk · contribs), so there is no requirement for a QPQ review.Sorry, ignore that bit, I was looking at the wrong one! The hook fact is correctly referenced in the article. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 20:11, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments, I've added some more references as well as a few extra details. Jellyman (talk) 19:44, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
Happy to verify this nomination following the introduction of additional content and refs. Cheers, Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 11:53, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
