Ed Gagnier (gymnastics)

[edit]

Ed Gagnier in 1957 at Michigan

  • ... that Ed Gagnier (pictured), the first gymnast to represent Canada at the Olympic games, later coached three NCAA national championship teams at Iowa State?

Created by Cbl62 (talk). Self nominated at 23:30, 18 August 2013 (UTC).

  • Ref 8 says he was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1982, whereas the article says 1993. Can you check please. Also would be good to have a source for the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor induction. Regstuff (talk) 12:21, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the review. Both issues not addressed. Cbl62 (talk) 03:13, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
  • Why not addressed? The first point is clearly correct according to the FN8 source (the 1993 date at the bottom refers to the editor of the bio, not Ed himself; 1982 is the date give up top for Ed). If you're not willing to make this simple factual fix, there isn't much point in having a more complete review done. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:07, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
  • Been inactive for much of the past month, and my note above was a typo. It was intended to say, "Both issues now addressed." Somehow, in addition to that typo, my changes to the article did not get saved. I can now say with assurance, "Both issues now addressed." Cbl62 (talk) 03:50, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Thanks, Cbl62. I initially thought "not" was a typo for "now", but when I looked there weren't any changes, so I concluded it wasn't a typo after all. Sorry to hear the save went awry, and glad to see it's all fixed now. One of your cites was missing the url, so I found it and added it to the template. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:26, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Full DYK review needed now that initial queries have been addressed. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:26, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Long enough, new enough, well sourced, hook fact checks out. It should run without the image, though, because it doesn't show up well at all at the required 100x100px. DoctorKubla (talk) 09:02, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
