Edmond (ship)

[edit]
  • ... that Edmond Point in Kilkee is named after the Edmond that sank there in 1850 with the loss of 98 lives?

  • The hook is not cited and isn't even in the main body of the text. The quote is far too prominent and I've renamed the article to conform with the WP:SHIPS naming convention. Aside from that, and the fact that the image has been removed, it meets size and 5-day requirements.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 20:19, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
    • I believe I have made all the changes necessary. ShaneMc2010 22:35, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Still needs a cite for the death toll, but the geography is properly cited and verified.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 23:33, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Death toll cited, Hopefully its up to scratch now. ShaneMc2010 12:32, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
  • The first paragraph of Voyage and sinking is not cited; each paragraph of an article must generally be cited for a DYK, and especially one like this that has so much information in it. Even more important, there is no explicit statement in the article that the Edmond Point is named after the Edmond, merely that the Point has that name today. Ideally, that particular statement would be in the body of the article rather than the intro, but it must be somewhere. There could have been someone else in town named Edmond who coincidentally gave his name to the point: it's unlikely, I admit, but coincidence is possible, and the connection must be clearly drawn in the article to be also used in the hook. • Added reference to first paragraph and changed reference to one that actually states Edmond Point was named after the ship. ShaneMc2010 12:08, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Hook is now supported in the article, and hook source supports it, too. All paragraphs now have at least one ref citation. Rest of review as per Sturmvogel 66. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:49, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
