- ... that Elizabeth Kekaʻaniau (pictured) was the last surviving royal student from the Chiefs' Children's School, a select school for the nobles and rulers of the Kingdom of Hawaii?

- I'll leave this to be reviewed by someone else, but six weeks after the nomination date (July 12) would be August 23, and September 11 is way too far from that. As such, I'm afraid the special occassion request has to be rejected. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:24, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
This is a newly promoted GA and meets the length and newness criteria. The image is in the public domain, the hook facts are sourced inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyvio / close paraphrasing issues. As it has taken some time for this nomination to be reviewed, I think it is within the six week holding period and can be held for September 11, as the nominator requested. - @Cwmhiraeth: The special occasion area instructions state that "Articles nominated for a special occasion should be nominated ... between five days and six weeks before the occasion..." The article was nominated on July 12. I know some leniency is granted if the requested date is still close to the six-week, but September 11 is almost a full nine weeks after July 12. Or is this going to be an IAR case? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:19, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
- It seems a pretty pointless rule to me and I think we can be flexible. Currently in the Special holding area we have Štefica Galić , nominated 70 days before the requested date, and Mimi Mondal, nominated about 95 days before. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:09, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
