Emany Mata Likambe[edit]

  • ... that Emany Mata Likambe, Congo's former ambassador to Poland, was discovered homeless and living on the streets of Warsaw in 1994 after the Congo government had failed to pay him for over two years?

Created/expanded by ErieSwiftByrd (talk). Self-nominated at 07:22, 12 December 2016 (UTC).

  • New, long enough, NPOV, and with an interesting, well-cited hook. It's the editor's first DYK, so no QPQ required. This is ready to go. (I don't think the lack of links to it are a problem for DYK, but as a general matter the author should try to link to it from some relevant article.) --Coemgenus (talk) 16:47, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Note: what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo was called "Zaire" in 1994. Shouldn't the hook be changed to reflect this? "Congo" seems anachronistic in this context. — Kpalion(talk) 01:25, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
  • This is not ready to promote at the moment. There is one unreferenced paragraph, and there are bare urls among the references. The Zaire question should also be addressed. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:32, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

ALT1: ...that Emany Mata Likambe, The Republic of Zaire's former ambassador to Poland, was discovered homeless and living on the streets of Warsaw in 1994 after the government of Zaire had failed to pay him for over two years?

  • I changed Congo to Zaire in the hook and the article where appropriate. Added 3 new sources, and there are no longer any bare urls. ErieSwiftByrd (talk) 18:33, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
  • I struck ALT1 because at 217 characters it was too long, and also struck the original hook because of "Congo". Proposing the following ALT2, which is 192 characters:
  • ALT2: ... that Emany Mata Likambe, Zaire's former ambassador to Poland, was discovered homeless and living on the streets of Warsaw in 1994 after his government had failed to pay him for over two years?
ErieSwiftByrd, is this version okay with you? BlueMoonset (talk) 23:43, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Looks great to me.ErieSwiftByrd (talk) 07:41, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
Cwmhiraeth, is it ready to promote now that sources have been added and Zaire replacing Congo in the hook? BlueMoonset (talk) 02:57, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
