- Length and dates are OK. Article is amply sourced. Almost all of the sources are offline, so we need to AGF regarding hook sourcing and article integrity vis a vis plagiarism. I'm reluctant to approve the proposed hook, as the meaning of "a Koranic and an elementary school" isn't entirely clear, likely due to awkward wording. Also, the article confusingly indicates that "Mimar" is simply a word for "architect." I suggest an alternate hook:

Hallo Orlady, thanks for reviewing the article! I have no problem in changing the hook, but I'll try anyway to reply to your objections, which possibly arose because of my lack of clarity. Sinan added to the church a Koranic school (Turkish: Medrese) and an elementary (primary) school (Turkish: Dershane). Maybe is the word "elementary" which is confusing? About the meaning of Mimar, this is a Turkish word meaning architect: in the Ottoman court it was also a title bestowed to the court architect. The name of the architect is simply "Sinan" (as you know, the Ottomans did not have family names), but he went into history as Mimar Sinan because he was considered the "architect" for Antonomasia in the Ottoman Culture. This for sake of clarity but, as I wrote above, we can use also ALT1, altough I would still prefer the first hook (also modified), since its notability is much higher: Sinan according to many has an analogue importance in the world architecture as Michelangelo, and I find incredible that a work of him - although lesser - has been abandoned. Based on that explanation, I think the main problems with the first hook are related to the way the words are sequenced. However, the article does not indicate to me that the mosque itself was Byzantine. It could be reworded as follows (two versions):
- ALT2 ... that Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan erected two schools near the Ese Kapi Mosque (pictured) in Istanbul?
- ALT3 ... that Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan erected a Koranic school and an elementary school near the Ese Kapi Mosque (pictured) in Istanbul? --Orlady (talk) 12:01, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
