- Comment: Presidente ejecutivo in Spanish is CEO in English, see this source.
Moved to mainspace by Anittadp (talk) and MX (talk). Nominated by MX (talk) at 06:08, 28 July 2017 (UTC).
- Article is new, moved into namespace on 28 July and already possessed of great length. Hook is appropriate, interesting, and well-sourced. (Also found one-stop verification in English here.) QPQ is complete Sources check out throughout the article, which goes above and beyond the usual standards of corporate biography to include details about policies introduced under the subject's management. Very good. However I am concerned that the article crosses the line into being promotional in tone. My concerns increase when I see that, although many positive but minor details are included, some major but less flattering details have recently (9 August) been deleted on a large scale. Anittadp, if the article is to include corporate revenues obtained under Minvielle's directorship, why should it not include controversies in which he played a part? I'm also not sure why you deleted the paragraph on Innit and Whirlpool, especially considering that there is no other article about Innit on Wikipedia. MX what do you think? groupuscule (talk) 18:37, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Groupuscule: I agree with you. Eugenio was a CEO of a specific business unit that was going through a major lawsuit. Anittadp's concern was that the lawsuit was more about the "company" than the person in question, but this case was very specific to the business unit he led and he was even mentioned in multiple sources about the lawsuit. I was going to wait until the DYK post was over before re-adding the material, but now that I hear it from a third-party I think it's best if we include it now. The information has been re-added. I think that with the re-submission of this information, the article no longer reads as a promotional page. I'm not very experienced with business biographies, but those were all the sources I could find, and I tried to squeeze as much information from them as I could while staying in compliance with WP:VERIFY and WP:NPOV. If there are any words that you might think are WP:WEASEL, let me know. This is how the article looked before.
- Upon further investigation, I noticed just now that Anittadp (introduced as Ana Dominguez in the article's talkpage) is/was an employee of Innit. So I guess we should keep the information about the lawsuit to avoid any potential conflict of interest. I'm not affiliated to them and was actually contacted by Ana since I voted in favor of the article's deletion before. I decided to create a new one as a draft and work together with her. Please let me know what other steps I need to take to get this nomination approved. I appreciate you taking this. Thanks! MX (✉ • ✎) 19:02, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- OK I'm signing off on this. While in general I am troubled by PR activities on Wikipedia I think that MX has done a good job to rescue the article and bring it within the realm of neutrality. I'm sure there is still a lot of room for improvement—and we would probably have a rather different article if it had started out from a critical vantage point—but I'd say it meets the standards and is furthermore interesting to read. Thanks for your work and for your reply, MX. groupuscule (talk) 23:23, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Returning from prep area per discussion at WT:DYK. The first hook has been struck as being rather run of the mill. The nominator has suggested ALT1, which needs to be evaluated for neutrality and verified:
- ALT1: ... that Eugenio Minvielle Lagos founded a company that is trying to help people eat intelligently? Yoninah (talk) 15:22, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Superseding tick until a hook is approved. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:26, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, I forgot the tick I wanted to use. Calling on new reviewer. Yoninah (talk) 15:42, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Yoninah. I saw your message yesterday but didn't have time for a proper reply. Personally felt, with MX, that the first hook was interesting, and I share the reluctance (given the context, above) to promote the new company. However, if the hook doesn't seem interesting to you, then indeed it is worthwhile to improve. Here are some ideas:
ALT2 ... that Eugenio Minvielle Lagos of Mexico has worked as a consumer packaged goods executive on three continents?ALT3 ... that after sixteen years as CEO for Nestlé in Venezuela, Mexico, and France, Eugenio Minvielle Lagos came to the United States to work for Unilever?ALT4 ... that Nestlé tapped Mexican Eugenio Minvielle Lagos to head Nestlé France, the company's second-biggest national branch?
- Cheers, groupuscule (talk) 18:17, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for the ALTs. ALT2 is ok; ALTs 3 and 4 read like a resume. Something like this is more hooky:
- ALT5: ... that as CEO of Nestlé Mexico, Eugenio Minvielle Lagos pushed for the "pull strategy"? Yoninah (talk) 21:15, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
- Nice hook Yoninah! Approving ALT5. --Usernameunique (talk) 07:41, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
