Eunice Lea Kettering[edit]

Created by SL93 (talk). Self-nominated at 21:14, 16 June 2019 (UTC).

  • QPQ done. Article created on 16 June and nominated on the same day. So falls within the allowed date range. Prose size (text only) is 2416 characters (404 words) so satisfies the character limits. Reference #3 supports the hook. Good to go! - Vivvt (Talk) 04:09, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but I'm wondering if there's anything else we can say about this woman other than she was the "first"? Yoninah (talk) 00:13, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
  • I didn't think firsts were against DYK standards. SL93 (talk) 00:14, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: ALT1 ... that American composer Eunice Lea Kettering, who had almost 20,000 copies of her work published, starting composing music at 6 years old? SL93 (talk) 00:15, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
  • (ec)They're not, but we've been flooded with them since WP:Women in Red came along and they're not so interesting anymore. Would you say that someone was the "first man to become a fellow of the American Guild of Organists"? I think not. If you could just add one more fact, like "that Kettering, the first woman to become a fellow in the American Guild of Organists, did this..." it would be hookier. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 00:16, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the alt. Could you just add something after her name ("who did this") about why she was notable? Yoninah (talk) 00:17, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
  • I added more. SL93 (talk) 00:19, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
  • Yes! ALT1 hook refs verified and cited inline. Rest of review per Vivvt. Yoninah (talk) 00:21, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
