  • Comment: I've spent so much time sorting out DYK Olympics nominations that I haven't created much content lately. I thought I should change this. I propose for the hook to run on 11 August to coincide with the closing ceremony. New Zealand always picks a gold medal winner as the closing flag bearer and "The Butcher" is thus far the only individual who has won a medal for the country, hence he's got a good chance of getting that honour; another good reason to run this on that date.

  • Hi Schwede66, review follows: article more than 5x expanded on 5 August; article is well written and sources cited look to be reliable for the subject; I didn't pick up on any issues with overly close paraphrasing; hook is interesting, mentioned in the article and checks out to source cited; photo is freely licensed and the wider version is used in the article; a QPQ has been carried out. My only queries are that I couldn't find his height stated in the source cited and the weight (given only in the infobox) is not cited - Dumelow (talk) 08:21, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the thorough review, Dumelow. I've provided refs (and in one case, an archive-url as the info used to be there). Schwede66 08:55, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
