  • ALT1:... that the former flag of South Africa (pictured) shared equal status with the Union Jack until 1957?

  • Comment: Maybe for 20 April (anniversary of disestablishment) or 27 April (date of first democratic SA elections) but I would like to request the image be used.

Moved to mainspace by The C of E (talk). Self-nominated at 18:46, 9 March 2016 (UTC).

  • The article is currently up for deletion. Resubmit if and when the consensus is to keep it. FunkyCanute (talk) 10:47, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
Yes but it is currently looking likely that it will be kept. No need to shut down the nom. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 17:22, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
The normal procedure at DYK is to keep a nomination open if the article is at AFD. Nominators get the benefit of the doubt pending the close of the deletion debate. — Maile (talk) 21:52, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
  • The result at AfD was keep; full review needed. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:26, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
  • Newly moved to mainspace, long enough, well referenced. Hook is fine but, being picky, "...later became viewed as..." is slightly clumsy English: the usual turn of phrase would be "...came to be viewed as...". QPQ done. Image is free to use, and appears in the article. FunkyCanute (talk) 18:13, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
@FunkyCanute: I have made the change. Do you have any thoughts on the proposed holding dates as well? The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 21:36, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
  • Since 20 April is mentioned in the article, perhaps we should go with it. FunkyCanute (talk) 10:16, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
