ALT1:... that although blindness forced Floyd Morris to drop out of high school and became a poultry farmer, he is now the President of the Senate of Jamaica?

Comment: Either version is fine. I dislike the wording on both of them, though, and would be open to suggestions. I've decided that I really dislike the Alt, but am fine with the original hook.
