Insufficient progress toward resolving outstanding issues

Fowey Gallants[edit]

  • ... that the Cornish port of Fowey was the base a group of pirates and privateers called the Fowey Gallants and that one captain seized fifteen ships in two week in 1469?

Created by Salix alba (talk). Self nominated at 08:33, 7 August 2013 (UTC).

  • Too short. Needs a few hundred more characters to qualify for DYK. --PFHLai (talk) 03:55, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Unfortunately, this submission does not meet several DYK requirements:
  1. The article was not nominated within five days of creation: it was created on July 18, but not nominated until August 7, twenty days later.
  2. The article contains only 1218 prose characters, well under the minimum 1500 required for consideration.
  3. The article is a stub.
  4. The hook facts are not supported by inline source citations placed no later than the end of the sentence that contains them. Further, the article itself does not meet the rule of thumb of one inline source citation per paragraph. (It just has two citations total, both at the end of the article.)
I hope the nominator will try again—and within the five-day window!—with a future article. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:28, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
