• New enough, long enough. ALT0 would benefit from the inclusion of the phrase "to complete their compulsory two-year stint in the South Korean army" but is otherwise short enough and sourced. No neutrality problems found, no copyright problems found. QPQ unnecessary and image properly licensed. Assuming good faith on offline references. My only other qualm is that this article is obviously written by a non-native speaker; although I've seen a hell of a lot worse, I'd still advocate you request a copyedit before I pass this.--Launchballer 09:20, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

• I've notified the author on their talk page. I also second Launchballer's comment that a copyedit is needed. I've read the lead several times and do not understand what Gomsin is, as the first part of the lead is about Gomusin. Jolly Ω Janner 07:03, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

• The creator's last two edits on Wikipedia were to create this nomination page and transclude it on the DYK nominations page, both on December 15. As this seems to have been part of a course, I'm going to ping Piotrus, who was helping the Wikipedia side of things. As has been true with at least one other Korean-based nomination, the text needs a copyedit before the article can be promoted to the main page, and that may require someone knowledgeable on the topic, especially the difference in meaning between the two words. • Launchballer, this needs more than a simple copyedit (though it needs that, too). As Jolly Janner notes above, there's a fundamental flaw in that it is unclear what "gomsin" is as opposed to "gomusin". Of the three English sources, the two Korea Times ones use "gomusin" (one only in a photo caption), and none use "gomsin". (The Korea Herald article does not use any variant of the word.) Unless this confusion is cleared up—and I honestly don't see how someone at GOCE will be able untangle this fundamental issue—I don't see how this article can be promoted to Wikipedia's main page. Also, the image makes no sense when paired with the hook. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:11, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
