• Comment: I expanded the article from 1085 to 6445 prose characters (excluding headings, infobox, discography,etc). As it is about a gay person can it please go up in June, Gay History Month, or preferably on 28 June, the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. Note that any hook should contain both names - Gregory Gray and Mary Cigarettes, as many people would know of him only under one of these names.

• @Felixkrater: The article looks good: the expansion is long enough, it's long enough overall, and it's within policy. QPQ is also complete. I like the gist of the hook idea, but I think it could be worded in a snappier way; I've pitched an ALT3 above, similar to most of the others but a little more concise, and an ALT4, which is a radically shorter version but one that I think could generate curiosity and inspire some clicks. Let me know what you think, and feel free to pitch more variations if you'd like. I'll try to help get the hook ready ASAP so that, hopefully, it can be scheduled to appear on the main page before the end of Pride Month. —BLZ · talk 20:11, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

The words 'Irish musician', 'boy-band', 'cult' and 'post-punker' should all draw a variety of readers. I think ALT4 is too simple as it has no context and nothing to entice.Felixkrater (talk) 21:11, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

More than fair; I pitched ALT4 not so much as a genuine proposal in its own right, but more of an extreme minimalist version to stir brainstorming and use as a foundation to build back up from.

• Hi, I came by to promote ALT5. I see the "post-punk" label in the description of his formation of Perfect Crime, but there's nothing written about post-punk music in the Mary Cigarettes section. Yoninah (talk) 22:06, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi Yoninah, then could we change the hook to:

As it says in the article, he worked in a broad range of styles, but "indie" generally covers alternative, independent music. I'm on holiday and I won't be able to reply to any further comments until next week.Felixkrater (talk) 06:15, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
