  • I am not here to review but just want to suggest: ALT2B:... that, at a cost of earned $900,000 for three years with Al Ansar FC, Hassan Maatouk (pictured) is the most expensive transferred player in Lebanese history? Source: Kooora
    Cheers! –MJLTalk 23:54, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
@MJL: The problem is that "most expensive transferred player" would make it sound as if the club had payed $900,000 over three years to his previous club. The "record" is just related to the player's wage. Nehme1499 (talk) 00:46, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
@Nehme1499: Good point. I'll withdraw that hook suggestion. MJLTalk 00:54, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
  • I came here to review this, but before doing so, I'm just wondering: @Nehme1499: Is there no known information about Maatouk's personal life? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:16, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: I’m not sure what aspects of his personal life could be considered notable or interesting. He has a wife and a child, but I know that from social media. Not sure what you would be looking for here. Nehme1499 (talk) 00:21, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Many biographies have a "Personal life" section which mentions basic information about their non-professional lives, such as family members or other aspects. The article didn't seem to have one when I checked, which is why I asked. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:23, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Ah ok I see, I thought you had suggested using a fact from his personal life as an alternative hook for the nomination. I will add a “Personal life” section in case I were able to find something. Nehme1499 (talk) 00:33, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the addition, although I think the wording could be improved a little bit. How about something like Maatouk and his wife Sahar have a daughter named Fatima.[78][77]? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:03, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

  • Full review needed. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:51, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
I was going to review this article, but I don't know if @Narutolovehinata5: is planning on reviewing it. SL93 (talk) 22:18, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
I'll try to do a review of this either later today or tomorrow, but if I am unable to do so, you are free to take over. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:33, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Almost ready go to: article was promoted to GA status on time, other DYK article criteria are met. No QPQ needed for first-time nominator. The first hook is probably the best option as it's probably his main claim to fame; the information is cited inline and verified. My suggestion on a personal life section has been addressed: @Nehme1499: however, is there no other known information about his life, such as his childhood, education, or information about why he decided to pursue a career as a footballer? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:53, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
It’s pretty much impossible to find such information about a Lebanese footballer (without falling into OR). The only way I can find anything regarding his early years, education ecc... is for me to directly contact him (or someone in between) but that would mean that the phrase would be unsourced on wiki. Nehme1499 (talk) 10:33, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
  • Noted. I'm pinging the GA reviewer Kosack for their comments on this, and if they say the article is good to go without these parts, then this will be approved. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:40, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
Obviously it would be a benefit to have as much information as possible but it's not a requirement for it. His notability comes from his career as a footballer which is detailed adequately. I'm AGF that the nominator conducted searches for as much information as possible given the chance of finding English language sources on this player are slim. Kosack (talk) 11:11, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
Just a detail, would it be preferred to wait for the player to reach 21 goals, and actually be the sole top-scorer of the national team? He is bound to score one goal sooner or later, so it would be better in my opinion to wait until he breaks the record to promote it to DYK. Nehme1499 (talk) 15:53, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5 @Kosack Nehme1499 (talk) 23:41, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
Wikipedia isn't a crystal ball, so it's not really practical to wait for him to break the record before featuring him on the main page. He could break the record tomorrow, next month, or next year, so until that happens, it's for the best to go with the current wording. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:36, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure what this was waiting for, but as the GA reviewer has responded, and all three hooks (ALT0, ALT1 and ALT2) are stated in the article and directly cited (AGF on the source for ALT0), the hooks are approved. (I edited the article a little so it now says "With this goal Maatouk became Lebanon's joint top scorer, equaling Roda Antar's tally of 20 goals", making the 20 goals of ALT0 explicit.)
