Henry Weston Farnsworth

[edit]
  • ... that Henry Weston Farnsworth was one of the first American soldiers killed in World War I? Conant, Jennet (October 15, 2013). • No, the hook is not correct. Re-read what Jennet wrote. (Also note this) Hawkeye7 (discuss) 10:21, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
  • I thought it would be clear that I was referring to military personnel and not civilians who were collateral damage, but I have modified the hook to reflect the distinction. Thanks, Hawkeye7. --BrianCUA (talk) 12:53, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Even so, the hook and the article (which doesn't have the "soldier" added to the lead yet) are wrong. On 27 February 1915, Edward Mandell Stone died while fighting against the Germans in France, with the Foreign Legion[1]. Fram (talk) 14:38, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Hmm. OK. Hook amended again per Fram. I'm not a scholar of the war and was just going by what the sources said. --BrianCUA (talk) 16:02, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
    • Recommend adding Fram's source to the article so others don't make the same mistake. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 20:39, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
