This article is new enough, long enough (over 2,100 characters of prose), and generally within policy (it is neutral, well cited with inline citations, and free of any apparent copyright-related issues). Both the hook and the alternate (note: I have made minor improvements to both) are short enough, certainly interesting, accurate and properly cited, and definitely neutral. I have no strong preference for one over the other (either would be fine), although perhaps ALT1 is slightly more clear. Note that QPQ is not required.
