Isaac Folorunso Adewole
  • ... that obstetrician and gynaecologist Isaac Folorunso Adewole (pictured) was assigned Minister for Health of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2015?

Improved to Good Article status by Wikicology (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk) at 09:16, 6 December 2015 (UTC).

  • Recently promoted to GA, nominated in time, well written, within policy, hook is interesting enough and cited, and image is also good. So, it's good to go. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 11:49, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but feel that the hook reads like a headline. This is a long and well-researched GA; certainly there are other interesting factoids to put in a hook? Yoninah (talk) 00:34, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up, Yoninah. How about DYK that....Adewole went into exile when he was declared wanted in 1984 by Muhammadu Buhari ? Wikigyt@lk to M£ 07:46, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
  • That's good. But I would expand it like this:
  • ALT1: ... that after leading a nationwide strike during his presidency of the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria, Isaac Folorunso Adewole (pictured) was declared a wanted man and had to go into exile?
  • I added a cite to the sentence in question for DYK purposes. BTW footnote 27 seems to be a dead link.
  • There is also some close paraphrasing in the article which should be rephrased or put in quotes:
  • Source: Involved with Advocacy work designed to reduce the burden of Unsafe Abortion in Nigeria.
  • Article: He was involved in advocacy work aimed at reducing the burden of unsafe abortion in Nigeria.
  • Source: Leading Advocacy to promote nationwide access to cervical cancer screening. Integration of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in the Curriculum of Medical Schools in Nigeria/Africa
  • Article: He led an advocacy group that promoted nationwide access to cervical cancer screening as well as the integration of sexual rights in the curriculum of medical schools in Nigeria.
  • Source: Training manual on Sexual, Reproductive health and Rights and HIV prevention for Medical Students in Nigeria.
  • Article: In 2007, he co-authored a training manual on sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV prevention for medical students in Nigeria.

Your version seemed fine for the hook. I addressed the close paraphrasing issues but I cannot alter training manual on sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV prevention for medical students in Nigeria because I don't think there is a reasonable alternative way of expressing the idea. Per WP:LIMITED, close paraphrasing is permitted when there are only a limited number of ways to say the same thing. This may be the case when there is no reasonable way to avoid using technical terms, and may also be the case with simple statements of fact but if there is a way it can be rephrased, please feel free to help in rephrasing it. Thanks! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 02:43, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
You're right, there are only so many ways to say things. Thank you for taking care of the other points; we'll leave the last one as is. No close paraphrasing seen in article. Since I suggested ALT1, calling on another reviewer to approve it. Pinging @Captain Assassin!: Yoninah (talk) 23:47, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, hook's characters should be below 200. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 03:25, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
"(pictured)" is not included in the character count. Yoninah (talk) 09:40, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, my bad. Good to go. --Captain Assassin! «TCG» 10:38, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
