I am concerned with both hooks; they seem to try and fit in as much as they can, rather than provide a clear topic. Furthermore they are both written with what seems to be a present continuous tense, which feels odd for an annual event and with details covering the 2015 instance.
Regarding the article I have concerns about how the sources are being interpreted. Many sources do not equate the Isha Gramotsavam 1:1 with "the Rural Olympics, as this article (and the hooks) do. Instead, they note the rural Olympics as part of the wider events, with two sources in the lead saying "the Rural Olympics, part of the Isha Gramotsavam" and "As a part of Gramotsavam, a rural Olympics was organised". Instead, many sources cited highlight the non-sport attractions as well, something this article does not do. Inline citations should also be in the correct places, and the cites relevant. The citation on specific alcohol statistics and the diabetes source for example seem very out of place, and do not link to the Isha Gramotsavam. Some of the other sources do mention these, but never in such detail. Generally, statements by prominent individuals also seem to be imported with much more weight in the article than the sources give them, as official positions and aims rather than the ideas of particular individuals.
On a different topic, I would like clarification on the copyright regarding the Sachin and Sadhguru image. The metadata reports the image was made using photoshop, which implies some editing rather than being taken directly from a camera.
Overall the topic however sounds like a good one for DYK, and it meets most DYK requirements. I think the article could be improved and a hook created with a little more work. CMD (talk) 23:54, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Looking into it further the article does seem to have taken some lead from a small paragraph on Action for Rural Rejuvenation. It appears to be slightly over 5x that, but close enough to cause concern given the unrelated medical prose. CMD (talk) 00:14, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
  • I've given an Alt 2 hook that should address the hook concerns. I've edited the article as per the suggestions here. Can you point out where the cites are in the wrong places. As far as I could make out, I placed them in the relevant places. I have also cut down on the medical issues and given news stories covering the event as resources. I've reoriented the article as a cultural event, and the rural sports are a part of that event. I've made mention of the cultural aspects in the lead para and the Background & objectives section. The photo was taken by me at the grounds in 2015. I edited in Photoshop because the contrast and brightness were not great. Regstuff (talk) 14:56, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
  • Thanks, ALT2 looks good, and your rewrites have dealt with my concerns. CMD (talk) 22:40, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
