Jack Taylor (TV series)[edit]

5x expanded by Paul MacDermott (talk) (disclaimer). Self nominated at 22:03, 1 March 2013 (UTC).

The article is long enough and the content seems to be within policy. The hooks are also good (the ALT1 is my favorite). But the newness of the article might be a problem. It was created in February, and expanded March 1, but I'm not sure it's a 5x expansion. There's also a lot of repetitive text. For example: "Jack Taylor is an Irish television drama based on novels by Ken Bruen. Set in Galway, the series stars Iain Glen in the eponymous role of Jack Taylor" and "Set in Galway, the series is based on Ken Bruen's detective novels and features Iain Glen in the eponymous role of old-school detective Jack Taylor" and "The series is based on Ken Bruen's series of Jack Taylor crime novels, and filmed on location in Galway." If the creator/nominator can do a little more expansion while cutting down on the repetition, it would pass. TheBlueCanoe 01:02, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
I've taken the repetition out of the Background section, but in the other two instances (lead and Plot summary) repeating the information is fine as the lead should provide a summary of the article as a whole. I did a DYK check, which still gives March 1 as the expansion date (the day I did the bulk of my work on this). Let me know if there are any more problems with it and I'll come back to it again. • DYKcheck does indeed give the date of 5x expansion as beginning on March 1, so this should be eligible for DYK. Reviewer should check for issues above, recalling that the lead is supposed to hit on the high points of the body of the article. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:17, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Article - expansion started on 1 March when 715 characters, now 6608 characters of readable prose, so x9 expansion; neutral; at least one inline citation to every paragraph; no copy vios detected using earwig and running random refs through duplication detector; and assessed as start class.
  • Hook Alt 2 - within length criteria at 157 characters; correctly formatted; correctly cited/supported by ref #7 in final paragraph of 'Background' section; and interesting (as I like Jack Nicholson but don't particularly like Clint Eastwood!!) and checking the article has made me want to see the series. Have struck other hooks.
  • QPQ done; no image.
Looks okay to me. SagaciousPhil - Chat 15:54, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
