John L. Beckwith[edit]

Created by Big iron (talk). Nominated by Skr15081997 (talk) at 12:07, 1 July 2014 (UTC).

  • Hook is not interesting at all. It's like you're saying 'Beckwith once had a job before becoming mayor'. If the job was highly unusual, perhaps then it might be hook-worthy. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 18:24, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Hook is much better. Article is just long enough (1750+ characters), hook is good (184 characters), sources/references all check out; No disambig links; No close paraphrasing: (As Beckwith is notable because he was a mayor you may want to mention the rivalry between Beckwith and Morley, the heated and contested election of 1913, newspaper involvement ... many interesting details you could add for historical context. I would add at least a sentence or two here -- albeit not required.) Article is good to go. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 14:59, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
