John Norton (soldier)[edit]

General John Norton

Created by Deadbeef (talk). Self nominated at 10:44, 10 January 2015 (UTC).

  • The hook needs to be more specific -- makes it sound like he invented the idea of military use of aviation. EEng (talk) 03:18, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, no close paraphrasing seen. No QPQ needed for first-time nominator. Image is PD. Regarding the hook, it should be shorter and more succinct. Either focus on his achievements or on his roommate, but not both. If you choose the roommate fact, it needs to be sourced inline in the article (that is, right after the sentence in which it appears). Yoninah (talk) 20:33, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Note: The information in the charts also needs to be cited for DYK. Yoninah (talk) 21:14, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
I've cited the charts and the claim inline. How's this for an alt?
ALT1: ... that John Norton (pictured), future United States Army lieutenant general, was college roommates with George Scratchley Brown, future Air Force Chief of Staff?

  • Excellent, thanks. All cites in order. ALT1 hook ref verified and cited inline. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 11:18, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
