  • The article is not long enough, the prose is only 1298 characters (tables/infoboxes don't count). The claim that he was released from Fulham for being too small needs an in-line citation. The hook is cited, but I've suggested an ALT1 above which I hope makes it sound more interesting. Also a QPQ review is needed. January (talk) 14:06, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

  • Came to promote this, but I am unclear on something. Article for Banbury United F.C. states it became a professional football club after WWII, so the hook claim of "before his first pro contract" seems to be wrong, since he was a stacker WHILE working for Banbury? Can you clarify @Zebroski:  MPJ-DK  12:43, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
    The statement in Banbury United F.C. that they were a professional club appears to be unsourced, they play in the Southern Football League which is for semi-professional and amateur clubs. I don't know a lot about football but I would have thought it unlikely that they were or are a professional club since they've never played in a national league. @Kosack: what do you think? Agreed with @January:, it is incredibly unlikely that a seventh tier side is fully professional. For a player to be fully professional, it is normally regarded that it provides enough income to be his primary occupation, so it's hard to imagine Green choosing to work night shifts in a supermarket if he was employed as a full professional.   • I hear what you are saying, I get that logic, but then I reread the sour es to see if it would help out and I read "after being handed another crack at the pro ranks by Cherries." - the word "another" implies a previous "crack at the pro" ranks, or am I reading it wrong?  MPJ-DK  15:25, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
The another crack comment would be referring to his spell as a youth player at Fulham, which is also a fully professional club. He reached the point where he could be offered a pro contract but Fulham decided against offering him a deal and released him. If I remember correctly when I was adding sources, Banbury themselves were even down in the eigth tier during some point in his spell there. There is a source I remember seeing somewhere where the club actually states that he wasn't contracted to the side on a full-time basis because no transfer fee was involved when he moved to Bournemouth. @MPJ-DK: Easier to find than I expected. The source HERE is from the official Banbury website where they state he was a non-contract player, often the case in the lower leagues as players change clubs frequently. Hope that clears things up. Kosack (talk) 15:56, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
