Solid bio, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. The hook leaves me cold, but if that - a bit of cute name-dropping - is all you want to tell us about him, why not? - In the article, I had to read "In 1915, he became a partner in Ehlerman, Wright & Abbott with Donald B. Abbott, Carl Ehlerman Jr. ..." more than once, due to all these names. Perhaps make a full stop after the company name? Or not, your call. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:57, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
Gerda Arendt Thanks for the review. The point wasn't name-dropping. The point was that someone who started as a fencer had a notable career in a different field. He was successful enough as a fencer that a U.S. President decided that it was worth his time to watch. With DYK, that isn't all that is shared about him because readers can click on the article. You have your view, and I have mine, and that's fine. Of the millions who see the Main page, some see the hook, and some of those click. I - a bit pessimistic about the last "some" (15%?) - want to serve those who won't click, but you don't have to ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:24, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
