Interesting bio, on plenty of good sources. No copyvio obvious. The hook doesn't tell me much about him, sorry. India is mentioned, but West Bengal not once. It happens unfortunately rather often that politicians are jailed, not so specific for him. I also think that the hook reads awkward: you start reading and think it's about a party, only later you are told it's not. How about Jyotibhushan Bhattacharya, a leader of the Workers Party of India? - A few things could be improved in the article: introduce the abbreviation of the party, combine same refs, think about the many very short paragraphs, mention academic work in the lead. I'd also add an infobox, which could show at a glance the parties he was in, and the universities. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:59, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- I'll try to copyedit a bit, to make a better flow. As per the 1962 arrest, it was part of a wave of arrests (mainly affecting the leftwing of CPI) against people accused of siding with China during the war. --Soman (talk) 20:51, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
