Kwaku Kwarteng[edit]

Created by Crosstemplejay (talk). Self-nominated at 15:58, 15 November 2017 (UTC).

  • Article was new enough when it was nominated, and it meets the length requirements. Earwigs detects no possible copyright violations. Article is stable and properly sourced, and as there is no image, there are no problems with licensing/fair use. QPQ provided. However, I'm not exactly sure if being a deputy minister being a civil engineer is that interesting, perhaps if Kwarteng was the Minister of Finance as opposed to a mere deputy. The article itself is good to go for DYK, but I'm not approving any of the hooks and I'm suggesting that additional ones be suggested. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:06, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: Thanks for the review. I have suggested another hook. Hope it is ok.
Thanks and God bless. CrossTemple Jay 12:36, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
@Crosstemplejay: Probably a little too long. Could you give a more concise hook? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:40, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
@Narutolovehinata5: Thanks for the review. I have shortened the hook. CrossTemple Jay 14:42, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
Still feels a bit too long, but it's on the right track. How about:
ALT4:... that Kwaku Kwarteng, who served as a spokesman for Ghanaian President Kufour, is now a deputy minister and an MP?
As I've suggested a new hook and the other hooks have not been approved, a new reviewer is needed. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:50, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
  • On it. — LlywelynII 13:24, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Well, ok, first off, please review the edits about all the capitalization and punctuation mistakes. It's great to help the add more stuff to Wikipedia (thank you!) but little by little try to be better at that kind of stuff. Similarly, striking ALT0 and ALT1 for lack of interest. It's one thing if it's two doctorates but your "two degrees" just means that he has a bachelors and a masters; it's not nothing but it's not really DYK material. Similarly, it is kinda interesting that a civil engineer is involved in the leadership of the finance ministry (good on 'em) but it's not interesting that the finance ministry as a whole has a single civil engineer in it somewhere. — LlywelynII 13:37, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

New enough; long enough (~2.4 elig. chars.); seems neutral, as far as can be figured without much knowledge of Ghanaian politics; well-cited; Earwig finds minor copying that should be cleaned up but isn't dispositive; technically the QPQ shouldn't've been carried out with a hook you created out of whole cloth, but if they promoted it anyway, who am I to judge? ALT3 shouldn't have an extra link in it but it's terse enough, cited, and as interesting as this page gets. G2G with ALT3. — LlywelynII 14:08, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
Hi, I came by to promote this, but ALT3 reads like a resume entry, not a hook. Yoninah (talk) 22:44, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
Crosstemplejay, can you suggest any other hooks? --Usernameunique (talk) 11:06, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
