Leon Day[edit]

Improved to Good Article status by TheGracefulSlick (talk). Self-nominated at 18:28, 28 April 2017 (UTC).

  • New enough, long enough, meets the requirements. Hook is sourced adequately and seems interesting. QPQ is done, looks good to me. The WordsmithTalk to me 16:47, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but have two questions. He enlisted in September 1943 and played the no-hitter in May 1946. Isn't that 2 1/2 years? Also, he played baseball in the Army. Should we say "after a nearly 3-year absence from Major League Baseball"? Yoninah (talk) 21:41, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Yoninah thank you for pointing that out. I made the changes, except it was actually Negro league baseball, not MLB.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 22:24, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Thank you. Restoring tick per The Wordsmith's review. Yoninah (talk) 22:38, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
